Terms of service
Last updated November 2, 2026
These terms govern what you can do in DoneEat and what we can and cannot promise. They are written to be read, and each section maps to a real part of the app and this website.
Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing or using DoneEat (the “app”), you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. The core app does not require an account, so these terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us.
If you do not agree with any part, please stop using the app. We may update these terms as the product changes; the updated version will be published in the app and on this page with a new date. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the updated terms.
The service
DoneEat is a local-first diet and exercise tool for iPhone and iPad. It records meals, exercise and health metrics, calculates daily energy budgets and exercise burn, and shows long-term reports and trends.
The core tracking features are free, with no ads. An optional DoneEat Pro subscription unlocks additional features such as multiple profiles. AI features — photo meal check-in, health report analysis, weekly reports and chat — are available with DoneEat Pro, or with a limited free trial after Sign in with Apple.
AI features can use a locally configured OpenAI-compatible model endpoint (with your own API key) or DoneEat AI Cloud; their availability, speed and quality depend on the service you choose. All calculations and AI output are estimates for general health reference — see the health disclaimer below.
Acceptable use
When using the app, please do not use it for any activity that violates the law or the lawful rights of others; do not upload photos, reports, messages or other content that is unlawful, malicious or infringes someone else's rights; do not attack, overload or disrupt the app or this website; and do not attempt to circumvent paywalls, quotas or technical protections except where the law expressly permits it.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the body data you enter (weight, blood pressure, meals, exercise and so on). Every calculation depends entirely on your input.
AI features and third-party services
AI is optional and off until you enable it. When you use an AI feature, only the content you choose is sent to the endpoint you selected — for example a meal photo, a health report image, a question, or the selected days of your diary for a weekly report.
In local mode, DoneEat does not receive, relay or store that content. In cloud mode, DoneEat's AI service relays the request to the model provider and keeps no copy of the content. The model provider processes the request under its own terms and privacy policy.
AI output is generated probabilistically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for your situation. Check important information before relying on it; AI output is not medical advice. Except where the law provides otherwise, we are not responsible for the acts, omissions or availability of third-party services, including Apple services (App Store, Sign in with Apple, iCloud, Apple Health) and model providers.
Subscriptions and payment
DoneEat Pro is purchased through the Apple App Store. The price, billing period and any trial are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your App Store account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and the current period is not refunded except as required by law or Apple's policy.
If you start a free trial and then purchase a subscription, any unused part of the trial is forfeited. Trial eligibility and duration are determined by Apple. DoneEat never sees your payment details; payments and refunds are handled by Apple.
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Intellectual property
The app's original content — the interface, copy, data curation and calculation logic — is owned by its authors. You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial purposes; do not copy, resell or redistribute the app or its content except as permitted by law or with our written permission.
You keep ownership of the content you create or upload (for example meal photos, report images and chat messages). You give us a limited licence to process and transmit that content only as needed to provide the feature you requested — for example, sending a photo to the AI endpoint you selected. We do not claim ownership of your content.
Reference data is credited in the app under About > Data Sources: USDA FoodData Central (public domain), Compendium of Physical Activities 2024, and the Taiwan TFDA Food Nutrition Database (Open Government Data License). Each upstream licence governs its own data, and attribution is kept in the app.
Health information disclaimer
Health content in the app is for reference only and is not medical advice. All calculations (daily budgets, exercise burn, body-fat estimates and so on) are estimates based on public formulas and statistical data, intended to give you a sense of direction.
Everyone's body is different. Before starting any diet or exercise change, consult a doctor or registered dietitian. For illness, diagnosis, medication or emergencies, follow professional medical services. We are not liable for consequences of health decisions you make based on the app's content.
Data and privacy
Your data is stored on your device first. iCloud sync and AI features happen only after you turn them on. How data is stored, which links leave the device and what we never collect are listed item by item in the Privacy Policy; that policy has the same effect as these terms and governs the handling of your data.
You can edit or delete individual records, export a JSON backup, and clear all data in Settings. Deleting the app removes its local data. If iCloud sync is on, you can also remove the synced copy from iCloud.
Changes, availability and liability
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may adjust, suspend or retire features, and may revise data sources and calculation models; changes take effect with app releases. Your local data belongs to you: feature changes do not delete records kept on this device.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that calculations and AI output will be accurate or complete. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
If we discontinue the app, we will make reasonable efforts to let you keep or export the data stored on your device.
